Culture comes to Hope

Last Tuesday Feb 15 Hope church was the venue for the Tafelmusik orchestra who were on their Ontario tour and stopped here to perform and also to educate local school children and the general public  about their unique style of music. They explained that they perform baroque 17th century music with period instruments. Who would have thought we would ever see musicians of this calibre coming to Hope!! The performers as well as the audience thoroughly enjoyed the selections by Vivaldi and Bach. I couldn’t help think that these professional musicians could no doubt do quite a moving rendition of another contemporary of Handel,  Bach or Vivaldi… John Newton, who wrote “Amazing Grace.” I looked online but could not find it. But  wouldn’t be amazing to have a couple of these musicians play with our praise team on a Sunday morning worship service?

It was also good to see so many community visitors coming to Hope.
